Josiah Quincy
Josiah Quincy was against the war on Canada. While standing in Congress Mr. Quincy said ... "The war against Canada was a cruel, wanton, senseless and wicked attack, in which neither plunder nor glory was to be attained upon an unoffending people bound to us by ties of blood and good neighbourhood, undertaken for the punishment over their shoulders of another people three thousand miles away by young politicians fluttering and crackling on the floor of the House, [ to whom] reason, justice, pity were nothing, revenge everything."
