Master Commandant Arthur Sinclair

Like his fellow naval officers, Sinclair longed to win a ship to ship duel with the British. As a commander of the brig "Nautilus", he made an independent voyage late in 1812, taking a few small prizes, but failing to encounter any enemy warships, much to his bitter disappointment. He is shown here after he obtained his captaincy in 1813.
