Benjamin Forsyth
Benjamin Forsyth commanded a company of U.S. Rifles in raids upon Gananoque (September 1812) and Elizabethtown (Brockville) and in the defence of Ogdensburg (both in February 1813) In 1813 the unit participated in the first attack upon York (Toronto) and the capture of Fort George and in 1814 was engaged along the Lake Champlain sector in the battle of Lacolle Mills. Late in June Forsyth, now a brevet lieutenant-colonel, was killed in a skirmish at Odeltown.
