Bertie Hall

One of the objectives of the Niagara Occupation in the War of 1812 was to shut down the Underground Railroad that helped escaped slaves into British territory. This home was formally owned by John Forsythe, an abolitionist. It reportedly has a tunnel in it's basement to which underground railroad slaves fled after crossing the Niagara River by boat.

Today Bertie Hall houses the Mildred M. Mahoney Dolls' House Gallery.
